The AML’s Media Message - Gen AI Agent Imposters

By Neil Andersen

Canadian School Libraries Journal is delighted to partner with different organizations, including the Association for Media Literacy. The Association for Media Literacy (AML) is a not-for-profit, charitable association of teachers, librarians, consultants, parents, cultural workers, and media professionals concerned with helping people develop an informed and critical understanding of the nature of media, their techniques, and their impact.

Media texts are more than just the written word. This issue’s contribution is a podcast interview between AML president Neil Andersen and Gina Marcello, a post-secondary educator.

Neil Andersen has taught film and/or media studies for over thirty years. He has been a computer resource teacher, helping teachers integrate technology into their curricula, and has given numerous educational keynotes and workshops across Canada, in the US, India, China, Japan, and Europe.

Andersen has taught media courses for teachers at the University of Toronto, York University, and Mount Saint Vincent University. He is the president of the Association for Media Literacy (Ontario). He has made movies and videos, authored student text books, teacher resource books (including Scanning Television), over 200 study guides, and designed interactive CDs, websites, programs, and posters.
